Invo Healthcare is looking for dynamic full time Special Education Teachers in the Colorado Springs, CO area. As an Invo Special Education teacher, you will be supporting the educational outcomes for children, helping them achieve their educational goals. 

To qualify, applicants must: 

• Candidates must hold a valid teaching license from the Colorado Department of Education with a Special Education endorsement. This requires a bachelor’s degree or higher, completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program (or 24 semester hours of approved coursework), student teaching experience in a special education setting, and passing scores on the Praxis exams (#5354 and #5001 or equivalent PLACE exams). Educators begin with an Initial License and may upgrade to a Professional License after completing an approved induction program.

This position may appeal to you if you have previously worked as a registered behavior technician, preschool employee, daycare worker or any background being employed with children. 

What to expect from the role? 

• Provide specialized instruction for students with special needs 
• Provide individualized assistance for various types of learning disabilities 
• Provide consultation, resource information, and materials regarding students with exceptional needs to parents 
• Build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and school administrators 
• Fulfill all other special education teacher duties that arise 
• $53-55/hour depending on experience and credentials

As a school-based opportunity, this role requires:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee must have the ability to move freely throughout school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and therapy spaces.
• The position frequently involves bending, kneeling, crouching, and assisting students at their physical level (e.g., floor activities or adaptive seating).
• The employee may be required to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally assist students with mobility or transfers.
• Vision and hearing abilities must be sufficient to observe student behavior, read printed materials and digital screens, and communicate effectively.
• The employee must be able to maintain visual and auditory attention to ensure student safety and engagement throughout the school day.
• Work is typically performed in a school environment with moderate noise levels and frequent movement between classrooms or buildings.
• The employee may occasionally be exposed to body fluids or communicable diseases while performing job duties and must follow district and company safety protocols.
