We’re seeking a talented, part-time Sign Language Interpreter to join our school-based services team in Burlington, IL.
Professional License Requirements:
Applicants are required to have the following, legally mandated certifications. Applicants without these requirements will not be considered.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Valid Illinois Sign Language Interpreter credentials, as required by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
• Appropriate licensure/registration to provide interpreting services in Illinois schools
What to expect from this role:
• Experience working in schools or with children is a plus but not required
• Provide sign language interpretation services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings
• Support students’ access to instruction, classroom activities, and school-related communication
• Serve as a member of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Team as appropriate
• Maintain appropriate records through Invo’s proprietary software
• Collaborate with school personnel, service providers, and families to support student success
• Ensure all services are performed in accordance with state laws and regulations
