  • Lead and participate in student intervention teams, including providing recommendations for appropriate interventions and services.
  • Participate in and support the development of school-based social-emotional learning (SEL) programs and mental health awareness initiatives.
  • Assist in crisis intervention, including risk assessments for suicide or self-harm, and provide ongoing support for students in need of emergency interventions.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date records of student interactions and interventions in accordance with school district policies and state regulations.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with trends and best practices in school social work and mental health services.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create and maintain a positive, supportive school climate that promotes student well-being and achievement.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Valid New Jersey School Social Worker Certification.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey (preferred).
  • Experience working in a school setting or with children and adolescents, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development, mental health interventions, and trauma-informed care practices.
