We are currently seeking a skilled General Education Teacher - Evaluator to join our dynamic Assessment and IEP Evaluation Team in Philadelphia, PA. Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations for students referred to the evaluation team.
- Utilize standardized tests, observations, and other assessment tools to identify academic strengths, weaknesses, and other educational needs.
Collaboration and Consultation:
- Work closely with teachers, parents, school psychologists, and other professionals to gather relevant information and ensure a holistic approach to evaluation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss assessment findings and develop appropriate educational planning.
IEP Development:
- Contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with identified educational needs.
- Assist in creating measurable goals and objectives for each student based on assessment data.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, evaluations, IEPs, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education services and documentation.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with advancements in education, including new assessment tools, intervention strategies, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited program.
- Pennsylvania certification in General Education.
- Experience in conducting educational assessments and evaluations.
- Strong knowledge of educational assessment tools, strategies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using technology for assessments, documentation, and instructional purposes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and move about the school environment.
- Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
