Job Description
NVO has excellent full time School Psychologist needed in Dighton MA.
The School Psychologist will support students' learning, emotional, and behavioral needs through comprehensive assessment, intervention, and consultation. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct psychological and educational assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need.
- Administer and interpret standardized tests and other assessment tools.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment results.
- Intervention:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, social, or behavioral difficulties.
- Develop and implement intervention strategies to address specific student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers to design and implement classroom-based interventions.
- Consultation and Collaboration:
- Work with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and develop action plans.
- Provide training and support to staff on issues related to mental health and learning.
- Prevention and Promotion:
- Develop and implement programs to promote positive behavior and mental health.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for students, staff, and parents on various topics (e.g., stress management, social skills).
- Advocate for students' mental health and educational needs within the school community.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to special education and psychological services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and consultations.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by school policies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid Massachusetts School Psychologist license.
- Experience in an educational setting, preferably at the elementary level.
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and parents.
- Commitment to the well-being and academic success of all students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS).
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
