Job Description
INVO is seeking an ABA with an RBT certification for a specialty School in Middlesex County, NJ. he ABA Therapist with RBT Certification provides direct one-on-one or small group behavioral interventions to students with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, in a specialty school setting in Middlesex County, NJ. The ABA Therapist implements individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The role involves working closely with students to improve communication, social, and adaptive skills, as well as collaborating with the educational team to support each student's academic and behavioral success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Student Support:
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by the supervising BCBA to address the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct one-on-one or small group ABA therapy sessions, focusing on areas such as communication, social skills, self-care, and academic support.
- Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage desired behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Data Collection and Reporting:
- Accurately collect and record data on student behaviors, progress toward goals, and the effectiveness of interventions during each session.
- Maintain detailed session notes and update progress reports as required by the BCBA and the school’s policies.
- Participate in regular data review meetings with the BCBA to assess progress and make necessary adjustments to BIPs.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to integrate ABA strategies into the classroom environment and daily routines.
- Communicate effectively with the BCBA, teachers, and parents regarding student progress, challenges, and any concerns that arise during therapy sessions.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions about student progress and program planning.
- Skill Development:
- Implement interventions that target specific skill areas, including communication (e.g., verbal, non-verbal), social interactions, play, daily living skills, and academic tasks.
- Use ABA techniques such as discrete trial training (DTT), task analysis, and natural environment teaching (NET) to teach new skills and behaviors.
- Support students in generalizing skills across different settings and situations.
- Behavior Management:
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviors by implementing de-escalation strategies and crisis intervention techniques as outlined in the student’s BIP.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students, adhering to school policies and behavior management protocols.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with ABA practices and techniques.
- Maintain RBT certification by completing required continuing education and supervision hours as mandated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Current RBT certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- CPR and First Aid certification (may be required depending on school policy).
- Experience:
- Prior experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities in a school or therapeutic setting is preferred.
- Experience implementing ABA techniques and collecting data is a plus.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.

Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
