We are seeking a dedicated School Nurse for our Assessment and IEP Evaluation Team in Philadelphia, PA. Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments for students referred for special education services.
• Collect and review medical histories, immunization records, and other health information.

Collaboration and Consultation:

• Work closely with parents, school psychologists, and other professionals to ensure a holistic evaluation.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss findings and develop intervention strategies.
• Provide training to school staff on health-related issues and emergency procedures.

IEP Development:

• Collaborate with educators and parents to develop IEPs that address students' health needs.
• Ensure health-related accommodations and services are included in IEPs.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, evaluations, IEPs, and progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare and submit required reports and documentation on time.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Pennsylvania certification in Special Education.
• Two years of full-time, paid, professional nursing experience.
• Valid license as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the State Board of Nursing, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Valid School Nurse certificate issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move about the school environment.
• Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
